Man Hilariously Illustrates His Flight From New York To Berlin

in Design Nerd by

If you have ever traveled by plane, you probably already know just how many things can go wrong. From airline food to crying babies – the struggle is real. That’s why illustrator Christoph Niemann (previously here) decided to draw his flight from New York to Berlin.

Christoph Niemann is an accomplished illustrator and author. His work has appeared on the covers The New Yorker, Time, Wired and The New York Times. Since 2008, Niemann has been writing and illustrating for the New York Times.

When Niemann is not drawing cartoons for the New York Times, he creates clever illustrations using everyday objects that he calls “Sunday Sketches.”

Auto Mechanics Hilariously Recreate Renaissance Paintings

in Design Nerd by

US-based photographer Freddy Fabris had always wanted to pay homage to the Renaissance masters with his photos in some way, but he wasn’t sure how until he stumbled upon an auto-mechanic shop in the Midwest. This led to a brilliant series of portraits with auto mechanics reenacting famous Renaissance paintings.

“Translating painting into photography was a challenge I looked forward to,” Fabris wrote on Huffpost. “I wanted to respect the look and feel of the originals, but needed to come up with a conceptual twist that would create a new layer to the original.”

Fabris is a professional photographer, so the rest of his work is definitely worth checking out too!
