Loving Husband Spends 2 Years Planting Thousands Of Flowers For His Blind Wife To Smell

in Design Nerd by

Mr. and Mrs. Kuroki lived a happy life as dairy farmers in rural Japan, raising two lovely children. But tragedy struck when Mrs. Kuroki suddenly lost her sight due to complications from diabetes. Soon, she became depressed and withdrawn, secluding herself in the family home.

Mr. Kuroki struggled to find a way to cheer his wife when a beautiful idea occurred to him: he decided to plant a flower garden where she could enjoy their smell, enticing her to go outside. Two years of hard work and thousands of flowers later, the private farm now draws people who want to see this real life love story from all around the world. (h/t: rocketnews24)

Husband Tired Of Fighting For His Bed Side, Finds A Genius Solution

in Design Nerd by

Spooning is nice, being crushed to death – not so much. Redditor jonathan881 appears to have solved the everlasting bed wars issue. For just $ 35.95 he bought a laser and marked the sides of the bed he shares with his wife. Having worked over 15 years in tech has finally paid off.

“In our house there is no debate, ONLY DATA,” writes Jonathan. “I asked whom she thought was the more frequent offender, she guessed 50/50 i’m no noob…this is totally playful, no spite at all. I’m a lucky guy.” Your bed is king size and you still end up on the floor? Maybe it’s time to get a laser, too.

After His Wife Passes Away, Husband Posts Her Goodbye Letter That’s Both Funny And Touching

in Design Nerd by

Heather McManamy is sending you a letter from her grave. This great mom was diagnosed with breast cancer in 2013. Now, at the age of 36, she passed away. But before that, she entrusted her husband Jeff with a letter he was to (and did) post on her Facebook.

Speaking from beyond the veil, Heather asks people to tell her daughter about her love (and maybe exaggerate stories of her coolness a little). But most of all, Heather asks us all to appreciate every day we have and take all we can from the fragile journey of life.

Loving Husband Lists All The Reasons He Loves His Wife Who Is Battling Depression

in Design Nerd by

Tim Murphy, a Los Angeles-based engineer, surprised his new wife Molly with a beautiful love note. Molly, who suffers from depression, had just returned from a trip to San Francisco and was feeling particularly blue. When she flopped down on her bed, she noticed Tim has written a 15 point love note on their bedroom mirror, title “Reasons I Love My Wife.”

“I’m not saying mental illness is cured by nice words on a mirror,” write Molly on Imgur. “In fact, it takes professional care, love, empathy, sometimes even medication just to cope. Many people struggle with it mental illness – more than we probably even realize….show them kindness and remind them things can and WILL get better. Everyone needs a little help sometimes. If that person can’t be you – see if you have any resources for therapy.
